In Colin Teevan's translation of Giuseppe Manfridi’s delightfully obscene comedy, directed by Sir Peter Hall for the Gate Theatre in 2000, Beatrice, Tito and Tobia discover that the future holds a different past for them. Cuckoos is a tragi-comic retelling of the Oedipus myth.
Giuseppe Manfridi's Zozos has been produced many times in Italy.
It was first produced in this translation in English at the Gate Theatre, London on 21 March 2000. Directed by Sir Peter Hall.
It was subsequently revived at the Barbican Theatre, London, 19 June 2003. Directed by Sir Peter Hall.
